Snoop Dogma
Our mission, should we
choose to accept it…
…is to snoop out dogma 🍄🐽🍄
or should we say dogma?
😉🪄😜
Too many have been hoodwinked for far too long by some basic bargain basement lies, like…
💔
Life is suffering
Gautama Buddha I have taught one thing and one thing only, dukkha and the cessation of dukkha.
Culadasa, from *The Mind Illuminated* Although pain and pleasure are an inevitable part of human life, suffering and happiness are entirely optional.
As with the doctrine of Original Sin, this First Noble Truth is an unsupported premise posed as a pillar of faith. It may be advantageous to one who hopes to corral the masses to obey, comply, or behave predictably, but there is nothing noble about imposing a limiting belief upon the unfettered mind of an untethered soul .
🎒🏫🎒
Must we teach
the next to suffer?
through dogma like…
Nature is evil 🐲
Tennyson, In Memoriam A.H.H.
👹🔪👹
Do we accept as rote
that nature is vicious,
cutthroat and cruel? 🐉🐍🐉
It’s kill or be killed
out there, yes? 🐇🐺🐺🐺
🌩️🧬🌩️
Consider the Neo-Darwinian take on evolution through natural selection 🎲🐢🎲
Random mutations in DNA express as traits that become inherited as they allow their host to survive and reproduce. Hosts have little to no influence on how they develop or evolve. Natural selection is an involuntary process. Evolution just happens, and it all depends on the code.
There lies an enormous, unmapped chasm between mutations in base pairs and expressed, inheritable physical traits. Meanwhile, entire fields of technocapitalism, like genetics and microbiology, daily take a leap of faith while they operate on these premises as though they are scripture.
Simply put, genes don’t
explain or predict forms.
Why do we act like they do?
How did it come to pass that the structure of the scientific establishment depends upon this and a slew of other unproven and often unfalsifiable assumptions about the nature of reality?
The scientist reserves sovereignty only for the long-deceased who can no longer remind us that no one believed them while they were alive.
How might Copernicus and Galileo—who toiled for truth, risking exile, excommunication, even death—view our profound state of mass confusion in this afterbirth of the nihilistic era of allopathic medicine?
Might these now-ubiquitous Neo-Darwinian theories of evolution be the tortured, closeted projections of omni-cidal colonizers hellbent on total control?
🦮🐈
Which creatures (that we do not eat or cage) thrive or even survive
in our shadow? 🐀🪳🐖🐄🐔
If the purpose of civilization is to conquer nature in all its chaotic wickedness, then impliedly it is the charge of any civilized human to forward that cause, and work hard to be productive toward our Occidental northstar:
…perpetual progress
toward total control
🤚
No one defies
the Invisible Hand
Our ersatz leaders seem to believe that the free market will guide our path, that the market is cool, calculating, unforgiving, competitive, cutthroat.
Isn’t this how they also portray Nature too, where only the fittest survive to struggle in a world of lack and violence?
🚀
Would our technocratic heroes
rather blast off
than listen to Mother? 🌻
Would they rather
create artificial wombs
than support paid leave
for new mothers?
🌦️
Meanwhile Gaia sings
the Tao Te Ching 💮
For all of nature’s manifestations contain both sides of every spectrum of the world of form. Good and evil, dark and light, yin and yang. Nature is within us, and we are within it. The evil we villify defines the goodness to which we aspire.
Might it be that the evil
we seek to eradicate
sits in the pits of our soul? 🕳️
💩
Or how about this piece of snoop dogma doodoo…
🧑⚕️
“We need MOAR jobs!”🏗️
📢 If only this were a caricature of any and every politician in recent memory.
Will we stop clamoring for more jorbs
before we’ve lined the ocean floor with mylar?
Once more blindly into the fray, we trust the message that progress will slake our dissatisfaction with our lives. And yet it never has. Fool us twice, shame on us. Fool us for hundreds and thousands of years, shame be damned, let’s try something else.
When the skies cleared in March 2020 in a matter of days…
didn’t we realize, somewhere done deep that…
Hard work harms our world?
That Progress is detrimental
to our collective well-being?
We hold “hard work” and “progress” as unquestionable tenets under the doctrine of scarcity . Any economist will tell you that supplies are limited. But keep in mind that only a few hundred years ago, most people believed that the earth was the center of the universe .
🐝
To bee blissfully happy
we need only work two-ish hours a day
🏖️
Which carves out most of our lives for playing with our kids and friends and friends’ kids and kids’ friends, for creating and becoming art, for mastering skills and failing fantastically, for caring for our gardens and animal companions, creating art, and mating, or at least practicing.
We tremble at the threshold of a new era of joblessness… and perpetual leisure, of idle self-expression and near-constant meditation, of lives crafted and savored.
In the face of dogma like…
Things are scarce
Today nearly 8 billion people are living in ScarCity
Life’s too short to eat gluten-free bread. Money doesn’t grow on cornstalks, you know. What was it that’s 10% inspiration, and 90% perspiration? A bad idea?
What feels better: 🫂
a passionate embrace, or 👑
a bejeweled crown?
When we build our concept of value on scarcity, we create a belligerent (war-waging) economy. When what we have less of is what we hold precious, how can we ever be satisfied?
When we know in our hearts that…
🚰
Things are abundant
There’s plenty of water, food, land, air, space, money, time, love, beauty, intimacy, energy, rest, and joy to go around.
Meanwhile in the world of abundance we have barely any need for numbers above ten. The Dunbar numbers are intuitive enough that we don’t have to count them. We can feel when our social circles are taut and fertile or languorous and stark.
We live in Scare City.
Abundance’s all around us.
Yet many still continue to believe that…
Matter is primary.
The Standard Model of Physics can explain less than 7% of the observable phenomena in the universe.
The rest we attribute to dark matter and dark energy 🤷
But these gargantuan particle accelerators paradoxically justified by the opaque nature of quantum mechanics have gotten us no closer to understanding how gravity relates to electromagnetism.
How do we expect to solve our problems using the same modes of thinking that created them?
