What Sets Humans Apart
TL;DR π₯π₯π₯π₯π₯
We do
And literally nothing else does.
The story of separation
has us.
Tune in to Charles Eisenstein
for the true trueβ¦
Yet another symptom of the story of separation is the common quest of the academic to determine βwhat sets humans apartβ or βwhat makes us specialβ?
We hold ourselves to be so special that we can justify obliterating nearly all other forms of life on Earth. But the death of a single human remains nearly unspeakably taboo.
This pathology goes deep,
back to the origin of the species.
Iβve only just begun cataloging these (vain) attempts to distinguish ourself.
Perhaps we might address the fear at the root of this inquiry as Kristin Neff would suggest : with kindness and without judgment, we can begin to look for similarity where difference once stood, shedding layers of identity like old onions until we are the only one left.
Thought: You are not a human being having a spiritual experience. You are a spiritual being having a human experience.
